WHAT THE FIRST PATCH IS DESIGNED TO MEASURE

There’s more to sweat
than water.

better. is being developed to combine sweat-rate information with sodium, potassium, chloride and pH measurements. The aim is to estimate fluid and electrolyte losses during sweaty sessions and support more informed hydration choices.

Na⁺

Sodium

A major electrolyte in sweat and part of its salt content.

K⁺

Potassium

A complementary part of your sweat-electrolyte profile.

Cl⁻

Chloride

Adds information about the salt composition of sweat.

pH

Acidity

Describes how acidic your sweat is.

Planned functionality. Loss estimates require suitable sweat-rate measurement, calibration and validation; they are not direct blood values or a dehydration diagnosis. Ammonium and lactate remain planned extensions.

A MODULAR EVERYDAY SYSTEM

Keep the Heart.
Refresh the sensing layer.

The reusable Heart, an exchangeable sensor layer and the app are designed as one connected system. The sensing layer interfaces with sweat; the Heart captures and transfers measurements.

The intended workflow is simple: prepare the sensor layer, apply the patch and view measurements in context. Final handling instructions will accompany the product.

PHEAL BETTER. · SENSOR LAYERS IN DEVELOPMENT

Which sensor layer suits you?

LAYER 01

Sweat Electrolytes

How salty is your sweat?

On a long run or a warm afternoon in the garden, see how the salt concentration in your sweat changes. Note when you stop for a drink so you can compare similar days.

Your next step

After a long outing, look at when your sweat was saltiest. Use your drinking notes to plan convenient drink breaks for your next trip.

LAYER 02

My Active Rhythm

Your route, your pace

Walk or run the same route twice, once at an easy pace and once a little faster. Compare your sweat lactate patterns with how hard each outing felt.

Your next step

Try two different starting paces. Which felt comfortable all the way to the finish, and how did your sweat lactate change along the way? Try that pace again next time.

LAYER 03

Effort & Rest

What happens between climbs?

Mark your breaks on a hilly walk or during interval training. See how ammonium and lactate in your sweat change during harder stretches and breaks.

Your next step

Try shorter and longer breaks on the same route. Look at your trends alongside how you felt on the next climb, then repeat the rhythm that felt better.

Ammonium · Lactate · Sodium · pH

LAYER 04

Food & Movement

When does movement feel right for you?

Try leaving different amounts of time between a meal and your usual walk or workout. Compare your sweat readings and note whether you felt comfortably full or still too full to move easily.

Your next step

Eat the same meal earlier on one day and later on another before a similar outing. Look at your sweat profile alongside your notes on hunger and fullness to choose the timing that suits you.

A CLOSER LOOK INSIDE

A wearable is more
than a sensor.

The Heart, sensing layer, body-fluid interface and data experience need to work together. Starting with sweat-electrolyte monitoring gives us a focused route to bring the full system into real-world testing.

The development programme connects measurement performance with skin contact, comfort, wearability and repeatable assembly. Experience from this first configuration is intended to inform the next platform steps.

FIRST FOCUS

Sweat electrolytes

The intended first panel is sodium, potassium, chloride and pH, for non-medical use.

NEXT STEPS

Selected sensor extensions

Ammonium and lactate are planned extensions, subject to development and validation.

PLANNED PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

MONITORING

Every 20 minutes

The planned monitoring mode records one measurement every 20 minutes.

LIVE

Every 60 seconds

Activate via NFC for measurements every 60 seconds for up to three hours.

WEAR

Up to 7 days

Planned wear duration depends on sweat availability and operating conditions.

The intended energy budget supports up to 10 Live sessions within seven days under the planned operating conditions. After a Live session, the device automatically returns to Monitoring.

These are development targets, not independently validated performance guarantees.

03

Follow the session.

The planned session records every 60 seconds for up to three hours, then automatically returns to Monitoring.

Planned product workflow. Monitoring records every 20 minutes. Data availability depends on sufficient sweat; final app screens and instructions may change.

UNDERSTANDING THE MEASUREMENTS

Useful context starts with clear expectations.

SWEAT AVAILABILITY

Measurements need sweat.

Data availability depends on sufficient sweat and the conditions of use. Continuous monitoring does not mean an uninterrupted stream of data in every situation.

INTERPRETATION

Sweat is not blood.

Sweat measurements are not direct blood values. better. is not intended for diagnosis, treatment decisions or automatic supplement dosing.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before you get started.

01

Is better. a medical product?

It is being developed for non-medical wellness and lifestyle use.

02

Can it measure while I am not sweating?

Measurements require sufficient sweat. Availability can vary with activity and conditions.

03

How do I learn about availability?

KEEP THE HEART. EXPAND THE POSSIBILITIES.

Starting with sweat.
Designed to grow with you.

The rechargeable Heart stays in use when the sensing layer is replaced. Application-specific sensors define what is measured; the sweat interface brings the sample to the sensors.

Our long-term roadmap explores further parameters and body fluids around the modular platform. Each extension needs its own development and validation.
